Adult classes are run during the school term time at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, Manchester. Just 20 minutes from Manchester town Centre, the arts centre is just off the A56 and directly opposite Sale Metrolink Station.
Sessions are run one evening a week (usually a Tuesday) and the term lasts 10 weeks.
All aspects of acting are looked at, with a different agenda for each term.
The sorts of things that might be covered in the sessions are:
- Audition Pieces: Including Modern, Classical, Shakespearean and Restoration.
- Sight-reading: Performing extracts ‘script in hand’.
- Improvisation: Practice and its relevance to the business.
- Radio acting techniques: Including recording some scripted material.
- Devising: Short stories for performance on stage or camera.
- Television acting: Performing devised extracts and adverts on video.
- Stanislavski: An introduction to a ‘system’ of acting.
